Almost two thousand years ago Jesus ascended to the side of the Father.
He lived a sinless life to be the example for us and to establish a relationship
between mankind and our Creator. God
walked in the Garden with Adam in the cool of the evening in a personal relationship.
This friendship was broken when Adam betrayed the LORD. God Almighty has
been working since that day to restore us to our place and more!
In order to establish the
concept of being set apart God gave Moses the Law.
Upon the Law of God the LORD built the Church.
Christians interpret the
Bible from our cultural perspective. The Scriptures were penned by the Holy Spirit
coming through the minds and hands of Jewish men thousands of years ago. Today
Christianity knows little of where it came from, where it is, or where it is going.
In translating we Anglicized
the proper names of people and places. There are no “J’s” in
the Hebrew language. The actual name of Jesus was Yeshua, or Yehoshua. When a person prays in the name of Jesus does God understand Who we are speaking of? Of course! God looks on the heart of people and knows every thought.
These books use the Anglicized
names simply because more people are familiar with these terms. Ministry is to
lead people from where they are to live ever closer to the Lord. If they want
to think of the name of Yeshua as Jesus, or Iesous, or whatever, the most important thing is know Who He is! Without the knowledge of the Son, there is no way to the Father!
Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages along with the customs and teachings of the Rabbis illuminate the
Scriptures beyond our normal cultural speculations.
These are excellent for grasping
the foundation of our faith as Christians. Hebraic
Perspectives and Jesus At Twelve are resources for learning the foundation of Christianity.
It is good to understand
the sources of the Scriptures but the Bible is also a living book; not just a history book.
The Holy Spirit was given to lead Christians into applying the teaching of the Bible to our life. We are to grow to be more like the Lord day to day. This maturing
in the Spirit is the basis for
Little Nut To A Tree Of Life.
